James Ghent
Author of A Spring to Remember
James Ghent — “Gent” to his friends — retired from the United States Army as a First Sergeant after twenty-four years of service. Born in Miami, raised in Washington, D.C., he’s called Texas home since 1995: first San Antonio, now the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
He holds a Master of Science in Information Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and a Bachelor of Business Administration, and he’s a certified Project Management Professional. His writing goes back to short stories and personal essays in college, followed by two decades of operational, managerial, and technical writing across his military career.
Gent is divorced and the proud father of two daughters, Charmayne and Samantha. He lives in the DFW area with his three dogs — Chico, Ike, and MJ. Off the page, he’s a devoted Texas Longhorns and UNC Tar Heels fan, a Washington Commanders diehard on Sundays, and he won’t often turn down a serious game of Texas Hold ’em.
A Spring to Remember is his debut novel.
